September, marks change and the final third of the year. It’s a great time of year to check in with yourself.

Reconnect with your “why”.

  • As you start your day, align with your purpose.
  • Reflect on your day with journaling—what went well?
  • Periodically, take a step back to gain perspective.

Practice this Mindfulness Activity to Re-energize your Body and Mind whenever you need a moment to reset – while waiting, before, after, or to transition between activities.

Establishing a regular practice of pausing makes it easier to reset when you need it the most. You can start your practice at any time, even now.

  • Straighten your spine. Roll your shoulders back and down, smile to yourself, & relax your jaw.
  • Take slow deep belly breaths, allowing your stomach to rise with each breath in and relax with each breath out. You may find that each breath gets better and better. Allow your shoulders to relax on each exhale.
  • Advance the healing power of deep breathing with Box Breathing (Sama Vritti Pranayama). This technique is used by the Navy Seals for focus.
  • Breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. Try to feel the breath in your nose.
  • Hold your breath for a count of 4.
  • Exhale for a count of 4.
  • Hold for a count of 4.
  • You can change the duration of breathing, holding and exhaling to your comfort zone.

Recharge yourself, tap into your strength and share positive energy when you repeat:

“I am [*Name*]. I can do this. This is temporary. I have successfully handled difficult challenges in the past. As I connect to my inner self, I am open to the Happiness and positive energy around me. I send loving kindness and compassion to all people including me. Together, we can do great things.”

With gratitude and appreciation for all beings,

September, marks change and the final third of the year. It’s a great time of year to check in with yourself.

Growth and opportunity can often be found when you step out of your comfort zone.  Small challenges every day can empower you and build momentum towards growth.

Consider:

  • Wear a different color or style of clothing
  • Try a different kind of protein
  • Try a different morning beverage
  • Try a new exercise routine
  • Take a new route to work or school
  • Take the stairs

Practice this Mindfulness Activity to Re-energize your Body and Mind whenever you need a moment to reset – while waiting, before, after, or to transition between activities.

Today is Friday September 2, 2022. Seasons changing.

A quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Each moment of the year has its own beauty.”

September marks change and the final third of the year.

Take a moment to reflect on this past year to date and consider what has changed, what you can appreciate now and what you’d like to see by the end of the year.

Practice this Mindfulness Activity to Re-energize your Body and Mind whenever you need a moment to reset – while waiting, before, after, or to transition between activities:

  • Straighten your spine. Roll your shoulders back and down, smile to yourself, & relax your jaw.
  • Take slow deep belly breaths, allowing your stomach to rise with each breath in and relax with each breath out. You may find that each breath gets better and better. Allow your shoulders to relax on each exhale.
  • Allow yourself to be curious, notice the sensation: is the air warm, are the shoulders relaxed, what are the sounds that you hear?  If your mind wanders away from your focus on breathing it is OK, simply note that and then return to your breaths.

Recharge yourself and share positive energy when you repeat:

“I am [*Name*]. I can do this. As I connect to my inner self, I am open to the Happiness and positive energy around me. I send loving kindness and compassion to all people including me. Together, we can do great things.”

This August is about simplifying to calm and restore inner peace.

End the month with a brain dump. Write down everything on your mind. Cross off the things you can let go of. Make a list of what you need to do. Highlight the things you want to remember to return to. And then release and allow some time engaging with nature.

This August is about simplifying to calm and restore inner peace.

Find a rhythmic activity that feels soothing and calming and allow moments to connect with that rhythm. Walking at a certain pace, sliding palms back and forth together slowly listening to the sound, playing musical scales, gliding through the water, petting an animal, watch fish swim.

A quote by Eileen McDargh, “Determine your priorities and focus on them.”

This August is about simplifying to calm and restore inner peace.

For today, ease your mind by writing down everything on your mind. Pick the most important thing, to you, and highlight it or write it in a separate place. For one day, choose to simplify your focus to your single most important thing. Whenever you need, return to this most important thing, and stay connected to it.

Practice this Mindfulness Activity to Re-energize your Body and Mind whenever you need a moment to reset – while waiting, before, after, or to transition between activities:

  • Straighten your spine. Roll your shoulders back and down, smile to yourself, & relax your jaw.

Today is Friday, August 5, 2022. Out the door, happy to start the day.

A quote by Emily Ley.  “A simplified life means that what has to get done will get done.  And when we pare down life to its simplest, most beautifully basic parts, we’re left with room to enjoy each other, to rest and to truly savor life with all our hearts minds and spirits.”
