Naomi Parrella, MD, FAAFP, Dipl. ABOM
Dr. Naomi Parrella is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and a practicing physician who sees patients across multiple clinics in the Chicagoland area. She is the Chief of Lifestyle Medicine within the Office of the CEO, the Medical Director of the Rush Center for Weight Loss and Lifestyle Medicine, the Director of Strategy and Implementation for the Department of Surgery and is an Associate Professor for the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Surgery at Rush University. She is double board certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine, and has additional training in Chinese herbal medicine.
Dr. Parrella is a nationally recognized expert and frequently invited speaker, educator and strategist for universities, hospitals, communities and businesses. She is committed to teaching about diet and lifestyle choices and creating cultures where people of all ages achieve their optimum health. For example, she has presented to over 30,000 flight attendants, trainers and front line employees at United Airlines, and consulted with global internet companies to support and optimize team function, and she has also worked with a local manufacturing company, Weisheit Corporation, to improve the health and wellness of the entire team. Dr. Parrella partners with corporations and organizations in order to help them create programs to take care of their employees and to bring their best self to what they have to do next, whether at home or work.

Fran Lee, FNP-BC
Fran Lee is Family Nurse Practitioner with the Department of Surgery working in the Center for Weight Loss and Lifestyle Medicine. She graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Graduated from Rush University with a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing with a focus on Family Nursing. She is nationally Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Fran has completed advanced education in Obesity Medicine with the Obesity Medicine Association. She completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course which focuses on using Mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and anxiety.
Fran has spent almost her entire Nursing career at Rush University Medical Center. She started as a bedside nurse in the Department of PM&R where she gained valuable insight into how illness affects the individual and family. After graduating from grad school she worked in Faculty Practice at the School Based Health Centers as a Nurse Practitioner then in the Dept of Internal Medicine at the Rush Walk in Clinic, learning how to treat illness. She now has found her true passion at the Center for Weight Loss and Lifestyle Medicine working with patients to support their journey to improved health and weight loss.
