Saturday, March 21

Today, is Saturday, March 21. It is chilly and cloudy outside.

It’s been an emotionally draining time. There is uncertainty and fear around us right now. There is also love and kindness around us, always.

During times of uncertainty, it helps to have some structured routines. I’d like to offer a daily anchoring message for those of you who may find it helpful for you, your staff, your loved ones, and/or your community/patients. And if you have something uplifting or inspiring or empowering that you’d like to share, a story, a quote, thought, please send and I can include it at the end of each day’s Daily Anchoring Message.

Here’s what you can do today, right now:

Roll your shoulders back, smile to yourself, & relax your jaw.

  • Take slow deep belly breaths, allowing your stomach to rise with each breath in and relax with each breath out. You may find that each breath gets better and better. Allow your shoulders to relax on each exhale.
  • Experience the 54321 Activity.
    • Notice:
    • 5 things you can see.
    • 4 things you can feel.
    • 3 things you can hear.
    • 2 things you can smell.
    • 1 thing you can taste.

Anchor yourself with this daily statement:

“I am [*Name*]. I am doing what I can to be helpful. I love myself because I have kindness and love in my heart and soul. I am part of the global community and we are all working together to get through this. This is temporary.  We can do this.  As I think about those I love and care for, I send loving kindness out to all people.”

Today’s Quote shared by Fran Lee

“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.

“And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

“And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.”
